In the past, we have been asked why our turn-around times may differ from some hearing aid or earmold manufacturers.  Here are a few explanations to help clarify:

• The number of custom-fit hearing aid purchases through hearing aid manufacturers has decreased drastically over the last 15 years, with the majority of present-day sales being of generic open-fit hearing aids that are stocked and pulled off of a shelf.  Because they aren’t producing as many custom-fit products, the wait times have been reduced.  Many hearing professionals who have been in the industry for 20+ years will remember longer manufacturing times prior to open-fit hearing aids becoming so widespread.  Simply put: ALL of our products are custom-fit, and cannot be premade prior to each order being placed.

• Many of the Providers who buy from us go onsite to large companies and may send in large group orders of anywhere from 30-300 people at any given time.
• As the only manufacturer in Canada that builds custom-fit silicone In-Ear Monitors and Earphones, we have a significantly high number of electronic orders compared to other earmold-only labs.  These products are more time consuming to assemble than a basic solid earplug.
• We scan and cast every set of earmolds arriving in our lab so we can retain the file for 5 years to facilitate reorders.  Some manufacturers do not offer this benefit, and new earmolds must be taken for any additional purchases.
• We take great pride and care in manufacturing every set of custom earmolds; ensuring accuracy and quality.  It is our utmost objective to provide the best fitting custom products possible.  Labs that incompetently rush out each order may have significantly higher fit and warranty issues.
