It is extremely important to always remove any moisture from the Earphones and Monitors by using the silica gel desiccant disk after each use. This is especially important after wearing them anytime you have sweat profusely, such as when performing, working out, or when wearing under a motorcycle helmet. TO USE, please follow the directions carefully:
- Do not remove the beads from the plastic disk.
- Ensure the beads in the desiccant disk are amber coloured. If they are green, they are already full of moisture, and will not be of any help. To reactivate, place the desiccant disk, with the holes facing up, in the microwave and heat on high for 30 seconds at a time until the beads return to an amber colour. You must allow the disk to cool before using with your custom product. The beads are rechargeable a few times. You can purchase additional desiccant disks from us, if needed. Alternatively, many of our Providers (most hearing clinics) also sell different types of dehumidifiers.
- Place the cooled disk, in an airtight, re-sealable storage container with the holes facing up (note: Earphone cases are not airtight, but Monitor cases are. Use a different container if needed.
- Place your custom electronic product on top of the disk and re-seal the airtight container.
- Store your custom electronic product this way when not in use, or anytime you believe they have been in contact with moisture or humidity.
